Equity recognises different people with different levels of advantage require different approaches and resources to get equitable health outcomes.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The definition is designed to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>fit the New Zealand context<\/li>\n<li>align with Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations to go beyond just remedying disadvantage and reducing inequities, enabling M\u0101ori to flourish and lead their aspirations for health<\/li>\n<li>be principle based<\/li>\n<li>be inclusive enough to incorporate all possible dimensions of equity (indigenous, socio-economic, geographically, disability, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>reflect the international literature on equity<\/li>\n<li>reflect the definition put forward by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/topics\/health_equity\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">World Health Organization<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Health Equity Health Equity Bethlehem Family Doctors is committed to achiev\u00ading equity in health outcomes for patients, irrespective of ethnicity, culture, gender, religion, political leaning, age or ability.
