Childhood Immunisation – Why do it?
Immunisation provides protection for both the individual and the wider community from vaccine-preventable disease.
Unimmunised people can unintentionally pass on disease to those who cannot receive vaccination for medical reasons (such as cancer patients) as well as those too young to be fully immunised.
All routine childhood immunisations are fully funded in New Zealand for children under the age of 18.
We strongly advise that children are immunised against all diseases that are covered by the childhood immunisation schedule.
This helps protect our entire community.
